ER309Lsi Stainless Steel is most commonly known for joining dissimilar materials. Such examples are mild steel or low alloy steel to stainless steels, 409 to itself or to 304L stainless, as well as for joining 309 base metals. 309LSi type consumables are used for higher Si content necessary for enhanced “wetting” of the weld metal during welding.

Like other stainless filler rods, 309Lsi has excellent general corrosion resistance and produces a cosmetically pleasing weld cap.  If you are looking for a quality wire that will lay down weld runs better than cheaper re-branded types, look no further.
