ER4047 is commonly known for its low melting point and narrow freezing range. It has a high silicon content compared to ER4043 which allows for reduced shrinkage in the weld due to a higher level of fluidity. ER4047 offers a bright and clean weld. This alloy may be able to be used in high-temperature situations as its additional silicon content reduces hot cracking and increases the weld’s shear strength. For Castings like cylinder heads, a high silicon rod-like 4047 is often chosen because of its lower melting temperature and fluidity along with less of a tendency to get porosity or cracks. Our high purity fillers have sensational flow characteristics and produce exceptional welds that are free of cracks, Fusion defects, and other problems to which inferior wires are prone. Each rod is individually stamped or laser engraved with its grade identification marking. Beware of cheap, inferior product which is non-identifiable once removed from their packet. All our TIG wire is individually packed, labeled, and transported in a sturdy tube or box, ensuring your wire stays in great condition during transport.
